In the Ionian Sea you will find the beautiful, green island of Zakynthos.  This island is a beach lover’s paradise and is home to the green loggerhead turtles.  You can get a great view of these fascinating creatures when you take a trip out on a glass-bottomed boat.  The north of the island has excellent conditions for wind surfing and the unusual Blue Caves, directly underneath a lighthouse, can be visited by boat from several island resorts.  Inland roads meander through pinewoods, citrus groves, almond trees and vineyards.

A favourite resort with our families.

The Periyali Villas at Vassilikos in western Zakynthos is an extremely popular family friendly villa resort.  Villas are spread out over three acres of mature gardens and they are only a few minutes from the sea.  At Periyali the child care facilities ensure everyone has a relaxing family holiday.   ‘Hatchlings Creche’ takes children from 6 months to 4 years and children up to 10 are entertained in ‘Turtles Club’.    The combination of villas in a perfect location; the great service and first class childcare makes this a great choice for families.

On one of the Halkidiki peninsulas, Kassandra, there is the Porto Sani Village.  At this resort families are really well looked after, particularly those with babies.   As well as children’s clubs for ages 6 months up to 16 there is a  'babe watch' beach programme, where a team of babysitters will watch your children for up to 30 minutes so you can have a swim or just relax. Sani Village is at the heart of the Sani Resort which has 31 restaurants and bars as well as entertainment throughout the day and evening including an open-air cinema and a programme of evening entertainment with high quality stage shows for the whole family.

When we think you should go

Weather conditions in Greece are most enjoyable in April, May, June, September and October when the days are balmy and glorious, and the evenings cool. Yet even in the height of a Greek summer in July and August you can always find a cool, shady, inland spot. Crete being the most southerly of the Greek islands offers warmer temperatures during April, May, September and October.
