Kasbah Tamadot, Morroco Luxury Morocco Holiday I Bespoke Vacations Distinctive Destinations Blog – Kasbah Tamadot

Kasbah Tamadot, Morroco Luxury Morocco Holiday – Arriving at Marrakech airport we were quickly whisked away to what I can only describe as a magical oasis in the Atlas Mountains. The drive to Tamadot was very picturesque and we stopped on numerous occasions to capture that Kodak moment!

On arriving at Tamadot and entering the heavy wooden doors you are transported to another world where you want for nothing. Vincent the General Manager was there to meet us and instead of queuing at reception, we were taken to the terrace under shelter from the sun where we indulged in a cool glass of champagne. Wifi was freely available so we were quickly twittering our arrival to our friends.

We then ventured to our room with its own terrace, it was so spacious. From comfortable beds, candles in the bathroom for that necessary soak, local leather slippers, a local sun hat, a bag to take to the pool and even a warm cape for the cooler evenings, not forgetting a big bowl of pistachios.

During our stay we were able to visit both the lead-in rooms as well as the Berber tents with plunge pools, these have great views overlooking the valley and offer seclusion. Personally I liked the lead-in rooms which have so much character and are in the main building, who needs a terrace and plunge pool anyway?

When walking around the grounds there was a fragrant aroma of lavender, a delight for the senses, we saw apple and orange trees and the views over the valley were spectacular, everything you would expect from the Kasbah Tamadot, Morroco Luxury Morocco Holiday!

A visit to the stables is a must where you can even go for a mule trek. Mules and camels were there to greet us, they are so healthy and friendly, there was even a foal who was adorable. The mules’ names all begin with the letter “P” – Peppermint, Paprika, Parmesan, you get my drift! You will also see the mules transporting clean linen to the rooms, well we all like to feel useful right? The camels go for a daily walk too.

Before dinner we enjoyed drinks around the reflective pool, as you can see, a perfect setting for romance!

Dinner was served on the roof terrace under the stars which was magical, the low lighting made the menus hard to read so a menu torch was quickly brought to the table! Here we enjoyed a delicious local tagine and when the waiter noticed that I was a little cold he brought me a cape (what service), we then sat on the terrace star gazing, there is even a telescope for the astronomers (Branson has thought of everything!)

The next day we discovered a relaxing Spa where we enjoyed a Hammam, a steam cleansing treatment and exfoliation, this was followed by mint tea around the indoor pool, definitely recommended!

We enjoyed a lovely last day swimming and sunbathing, where sun cream and googles were even provided around the pool (another thing that Branson had thought about). We also had the obligatory retail therapy at Eve Branson’s shop where you can buy locally crafted items (a must visit) and the profits go back into the local community, so a good cause too.

All in all the stay at Tamadot was a truly lovely experience where EVERYTHING had been thought of! I haven’t stopped talking about it since returning and will definitely be recommending it to my clients.
