There is so much to enjoy in Tenerife. Mount Teide is an extinct volcano, almost 4000 metres high, at the centre of the island. It is well worth a visit for the unbeatable views from the Teleférico cable car which takes you very close to the peak. Other attractions that will appeal to the children are the excellent dolphin and whale watching, Loro Parque zoo and the  Siam water park.

The Abama, managed by Ritz-Carlton, is a stunning terracotta citadel on the unspoilt western coast of Tenerife is a beautiful resort located on a large private estate with its own golf course & Spa. It is surrounded by banana plantations rather than other hotels.  There are stunning views out to sea and and the area is unspoilt as it is a protected area.
